When was the last time you got a letter like this? Not to mention, when was the last time you got a letter? I know, I know… You say, “Why would I hand write a letter, when I can just text or write an email?”

Handwriting a letter isn’t just about the content, it’s the paper and ink quality, the scent, the penmanship, and drawings. A part of you is captured by that letter. You created the lines, loops, curves, and crosses. Your wrist and side of your hand caressed the paper with each movement. Sending a handwritten letter is sending a piece of you.

So, Gentlemen… and Ladies, if you want something to be extra special, give that letter in a hand written note. Even better, my fellow artists and romantics, illustrate the note as well to better explain the words.

En fin, to get some good ideas for your letter illustrations go to the special exhibition of illustrated letters at the Meadows Museum of Art in Dallas, TX.
